The Fourth of July 2012 is upon us and while the weather has been extremely hot in some locations and wet in others across our nation, we as United States of America citizens will be banding together to celebrate our Freedom today — regardless. To help you celebrate this patriotic holiday in app style, while also conserving your hard-earned American dollars, Mrs. Crazy Mike and I looked for 4 new, FREE iPhone apps that will help you enjoy this summer holiday while saving you a few dollars. The apps range from Entertainment to Healthcare & Fitness, all are FREE, and almost all have a patriotic theme. We threw a first aid app in as someone always gets hurt while out having fun. Musical Fireworks 2 – This is another very cool Fourth of July iPhone app that also works on the iPad, which probably will provide a much better show due to the larger screen. This app lets you choose from up to 10 different types of fireworks (or random) and lets you play your own music or enjoy 1 of 3 classic 4th of July music selections while you tap and set off your own fireworks celebration. There are several backgrounds to choose from such as Mount Rushmore, a cityscape, and others — for some customization, access your own iPod music and add it to a playlist to accompany your fireworks celebration. A lot of interesting things and you need some deeper knowledge of US History to answer all questions.
Training mode (no time measurement) and competition mode are available, time will be stored in database. Answers are in multiple choice structure, correct answer will always be displayed before continuing. Number of wrong answers will be displayed after each completed run. Have fun!

Fireworks Pop Free – This is a very cool FREE iPhone app that lets you have your own fireworks celebration on your iPhone, record it and share the video with others. I did a :10 second clip after selecting from the included backgrounds (NYC, San Francisco, Washington D.C. or Seattle) selected the my type of fireworks and colors (random) for each and started tapping the screen to my own mini fireworks celebration on my iPhone. After logging into Facebook I uploaded this, which took about 2 minutes and checked out my video, all was there but the sound, but it is still very cool. The sound is present when making your shows, one little tip the navigation menu will disappear most of the time, so close the app (double tap home button, hold finger down on app until red “x” appears and close app) this does not delete the app, but will allow you to access the navigation menu when you freshly open the app. This app is very cool, yea a little menu glitch but a great FREE offering for this July 4th.
