As I continue to hang out in the iTunes App Store I felt there was a need to do a few posts on groups of apps that have a huge benefit. There are a tremendous amount of business apps that have a huge return on investment for the iPhone toting business person. It was tough, but I picked 5 of my favorite business apps that I feel every business person could benefit from having downloaded onto their iPhone.
Evernote – Productivity – FREE: Have a great idea, but nothing to write with? With the Evernote iPhone app developed by Evernote you have 3 different ways to record ideas, your camera roll, and the ability to sync with the Evernote web service. What this all means is you have a voice recorder, text note option, and photo option to capture an image that may promote an idea or not. The Evernote web service is the cherry on top. You can use this as a clipping service for the web, no matter the browser. Whenever you come across a web article you want to recall at a later date you can either copy the url and make a new note in Evernote on the web or copy the entire web page to a new Evernote note. The clipping does not work in Safari on the iPhone. But, you can sync your Evernote web account with your iPhone, giving you all the clippings you made on your desktop or laptop (awesome). There may be a fee involved for the Evernote web service, but it is nominal. ![]()
Presenter Pro – Business- $1.99: Speaking in front of people can be one of the most gut wrenching situations business people have to do. The higher up you go in an organization the more likely you will have to present something to someone and your job may depend on it. The Presenter Pro iPhone app developed by RexiMedia is a dynamic app that will help you improve your presentation skills. The main part of the app provides you with structure, words, gestures, visuals, voice, and you can rate others who present by email. The meat in the main presentation skill development area is astonishing for the price of $1.99. I have reviewed a ton of apps and the quality and depth of topic is very good in this app. I am looking at starting Toast Masters, but I for now I will stick with this app for my presentation speaking. ![]()
FlightTrack Pro – Live Tripit Flight Status Tracker – Travel – $9.99: Many business people are in the air weekly to monthly. To help keep you organized and aware of your travel plans I highly recommend the FlightTrack Pro iPhone app by Ben Kazez. This app does it all for the weariest traveler to include:
-track flights
-push alerts for flight updates even when app is closed
-view live flight maps with weather radar
-predict flight delays
-search international flight schedules

The app works great and is a fantastic flight track companion.
Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite – Business – $9.99: Anyone who works on the go will eventually have to manipulate an attached doc, whether it is spreadsheet, pdf, or word doc this is inevitable. The Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite developed by Quickoffice Inc is a great solution for managing documents on the go. There are far too many features to list in this combined review, but here are a few.

Newsstand – News – $4.99: Having Google Reader access in an iPhone app can be a huge time saver. The iPhone app Newsstand developed by omz software is great app that syncs seamlessly with your already created Google Reader web service. The 2 best features of this app are the quick sync time and the user interface (looks like newspapers on a rotating rack). There are numerous features in this app as listed below:
-synchronization with Google Reader
-automatic feed discovery
-integrated feed directory
-download of embedded features for offline viewing
-integrated mini browser to read the original website of a new item
-sharing via email, Twitter, Instapaper, or Delicious
-multiple app wide themes
If you travel daily on a bus, subway, plane, train, automobile (if your not driving), then you can catch up on important business reading during these commutes. ![]()
