New Year’s Eve 2012 is mere moments away, and here are 5 iPhone New Year’s Eve apps to help you prepare for your New Year’s Eve activities, prepare for New Year’s Resolutions (that you may or may not keep), and greet others immediately after the clock strikes 12:00 a.m. with a New Year’s text message, New Year’s quote or other special message to friends, loved ones, or anyone and everyone. There are different font types, different font colors, customizable backgrounds, and other fun settings to make tracking time to 12:00 a.m., 01/01/13, fun. This app was updated for New Year’s Eve 2012 and now features in app purchase content (IAP) that allows tracking numerous New Year’s Eve countdown times and slideshow background while this New Year’s Eve countdown app is tick-tocking it’s way to 2013.

2) Times Square Official New Year’s Eve Ball App – 2012 – This New Year’s Eve app works on the iPhone, iPod Touch and Android devices, and is the official Times Square New Year’s Eve ball countdown app. This app also gives you a chance to be seen Toshiba Vision screen atop One Times Square. All you have to do is submit your New Year’s Eve photos inside the app and who knows? Maybe, just maybe, you will appear on the “Ginormous” screen for the whole world to see. This app also allows you to send a variety of 2013 New Year’s greeting eCards through Facebook, Twitter or email. And if you are new to Times Square or just want to voyeuristically find out everything you can about Times Square, this app has history, maps, events, and everything else you will need to keep in the know on New Year’s Eve.

3) New Years Countdown 2013 HD - This New Year’s Eve countdown app is for the minimalist who wants to also perhaps toy with their iPad, iPod Touch, or iPhone and see what cool effects they can make while watching the time countdown. This app has been recently updated and now supports the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini, and as all of the other apps in this blog post, it is free.

4) Happy New Year 2013 – Greetings & Worldwide Wishes- No matter who you are or where you are, we all want to talk, text, communicate with someone and say….”Happy New’s Year!” With this New Year’s Eve app you are covered with pre-made New Year’s quotes, text messages, and more to immediately begin wishing friends and family a Happy New Year. This app works on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch and for quotes and texting there is no cutting and pasting, just send!!!! This New Year’s Eve app is new to the iTunes App Store as of 12/2012, so please provide feedback if you use this app and like it, hate it or are just “meh.”

5) Dr. Change Your New Year’s Resolution- Most everyone loves the New Year because they can shake their mental “Etch A Sketch” of life and try to start afresh and anew by, of course, proclaiming 1 or more New Year’s Resolutions. This does not take a lot of effort, and I am pretty sure the statistics of successfully keeping New Year’s resolutions is not very good, but hey, it is the thought that counts; no, that cliche is for giving gifts. Anyways, most of us will make a New Year’s resolution and this New Year’s resolution app is designed to help you succeed with those resolutions. This app claims that a staggering 88% of us fail at our resolutions. I thought it was actually worse. But, this app is designed to give you a plan on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to help put you on the road to succeeding in your resolutions.
