The thing I enjoy about iPhone applications, more than any other software applications is how out of the box creative they can be at times. A lot of people see a problem and either they are developing apps or seeking resources to develop apps to solve these problems. A Family Matters iPhone app also for the iPod Touch is a great add to anyone’s iPhone who has a family. I can tell you from experience that I have not always done a great job of communicating with my kids and I could probably do better right now. This app is made for “blokes” like me. A Family Matters at it’s root was designed to help families communicate, not just better, but more effectively. There are some great tips overall that will foster conversations that you may not have had without giving their tips a try. The main user interface and purpose of the app is to keep the conversation going while traveling. The app has several tabs for common traveled to places that families may go where they will have time to chat. Each of the tabs, such as “road trip” has some specific questions to ask a family member. Cool thing is they give you tips on how and who to ask the questions to. The developer also used some common sense by suggesting the parent be the one to hold the iPhone app during active conversations. This app gets a 4 CrazyMike rating due to the value and functionality of the app. Any app that helps families by using the iPhone is a winner in my book. CM
