iPhone Accessory | Altec Lansing, UHS306 not bad not great

It took me about 2 1/2 months to finally get my Altec Lansing in ear UHS306 earphones. Was it worth the wait, unfortunately not really.  These earphones can be worn several different ways, over the ear, straight in the ear, etc. The earphones are noise isolating (not noise canceling) and come with a cool non-tangling cloth cord.  Overall as earphones they work great with my iPhone when listening to music. However, the main reason I purchased these earphones was because my Shure earphone cords were a bit too long (4′).  Thus, I needed earphones with a functional micro-phone. I used these earphones on several phone conversations and there is one huge problem with them.  The micro-phone is too close to my face causing significant noise distortion problems for the person on the other end.  Imagine a chain saw being stuck straight into a metal fan, while both are running.  Needless to say, not pleasant.  The earphones have a volume control, mute button, and several different rubber sleeves to get the right.  The Atec Lansing UHS306 earphones are great for listening to music, but they fall short as a telephone headset.  I purchased these earphones for $56.70 from PowerMax online.  CM
