Android App Review, Angry Birds Star Wars (Free)

Angry Birds Star Wars has been out about a week now and is top charting in the iTunes App Store — as well as Google Play. This new (soon to be classic) Android game is one of the best games that I have played on this platform, with little to no lag, lots of gameplay — and best of all it’s Free. I checked out Angry Birds Star Wars HD for the iPad the same day it came out and I was very impressed with the seamless melding of one awesome Angry Birds game with another equally iconic, Sci-Fi phenomena: Star Wars, to create another blockbuster iOS and Android OS game. The real beauty and benefit of being an Android owner, in this case, is that you get the top rated app like Angry Birds Star Wars for free. Yes, there are some (at times) pesky ads, but these are kept to a minimum only appearing in between the level gameplay, which is nice — thank you, Rovio Mobile.

Funny, my feeling about Angry Birds was that you can only do so much with this game, I mean, how many versions can you come up with and still stay fresh? Bad Piggies did not turn out to be as much of a hit as one would have expected, and who saw Angry Birds Star Wars coming? This was an instant success that is now sustaining. This Free version for Android users comes with 80 levels of awesome gameplay with the planet Hoth world game pack in development. The Path of The Jedi in the Android game gives you 1 level for Free, then the remaining levels can be purchased for $1.99, which is reasonable for what you get as a whole.

As I’ve mentioned, Angry Birds Star Wars for the Android was one of the best playing Android games I have yet to play on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Android 4.1.1 OS, Jellybean). The touch controls were awesome, I noticed little to no lag, although I did notice a slight lack in the bonus level area, and the video ad was quite clumsy. The physics action, graphics, sounds, and overall everything are fantastic, and a huge value for Free.
