Beauty or Ugly? Scan Machine (by ivalueLabs) is a funny, iPhone Entertainment app that scans your photo-captured pictures and determines if each person is beautiful, ugly — or somewhere in between. I am not sure about you, but every morning I wake up and go to my magical mirror and ask, “Mirror, Mirror, on the wall who is the fairest of them all?” — then my mirror cracks and I go to the home improvement store to get a new one. This routine is really getting old, but thankfully, I now have this iPhone and iPad Entertainment app to satisfy my vain appetite.
This app is all about silly fun and is meant for entertainment purposes only (actually, this is the second line in the iTunes description), so if you think this is really going to determine your beauty — please, see a doctor near you immediately. The app works using your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad camera (rear or front) captured photos, and once you have a good shot just tap on “use” and the Beauty or Ugly? – Scan Machine will get to work. The machine makes some “official” sounding, electrical-zapping sounds as your photo is being examined, and after a few seconds a rating and comment are given based on a 1 to 10 scale (1 being the best in this case). The sayings are quite flattering or quite brutal, but all in good fun. One example of a silly comment for a person scoring in the ugly zone is “When your mother went into labor the doctors went on strike” — ouch!
You can share your photos to Facebook and save to your camera roll after each face scan. This app is very easy to use and is a no-frills, funny Entertainment app, but be sure that you realize it’s for entertainment purposes only or you may be disappointed in the outcome for your scanned photos. I put a variety of pretty and not-so-pretty people into the Beauty or Ugly? Scan Machine (like a random clown from off the street) and came back with some pretty unscientific results proving that it’s great for entertainment purposes only.
