Check My Temp – Live Computer Stats…Very Convenient!

Check My Temp, by Tunabelly Software, is a simple little application that tells you all about what’s going on inside your computer. Check My Temp allows you to see what your computer’s internal temperature is at any one of its built in sensors. Not only can you look at these temperatures, but Check My Temp puts them into the separate categories CPU, hard drive, and battery so you know exactly what you’re looking at. Also included in this handy application is a fan monitor that displays your fan’s current RPM (rounds per minute), maximum RPM, and minimum RPM. As if just showing these stats wasn’t enough, while you have Check My Temp open, a live temperature and fan stat of your choice is shown in the top menu bar, so you can look up there and check it at any time.

Now, not all computers, even Macs, are built equally. You may have more or less temperature sensors and/or fans than someone else, or even between two macs in your own home. This is because depending on what year your computer was made and what model it is, the number of sensors and fans varies significantly. The only complaint I had with Check My Temp was that once you closed the application, your live menu bar feed would go away. But, since the last update a “Menu Only” option is available that only opens up the menu bar feed and runs quietly in the menu bar without a dedicated window. Check My Temp is a great little utility app to have around, and easily receives the full 5/5 head rating for how easy it is to use and how well it does it’s job.
