Doodle Army for Android brings the hit iOS app to Android devices. Doodle Army is a side scrolling shooter game with 40 weapons, 40 different characters, and large battle zones. This indie iPhone shooter game has become a Classic iTunes App Store app remaining in the top 200 games since it first came out in 2010.

This game features 7 large areas of gameplay including boss battles and mini-games, as well as different game modes. At times you will drive a PT-style boat, fly a Vietnam-style helicopter, all while using over 40 weapons from pistols to ray guns (to kill the Martians). There is zombie gameplay, referred to as the undead, and they are quite challenging compared to most of the other “doodle enemies.” Doodle Army is one of those games you can pickup and play for quick run to a new checkpoint (100 meters) or play longer and try to go the whole 1000 meters, in just one of the 7 current gameplay areas.

I played this game on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus and it played perfectly, except I suggest you use the virtual joystick and the thumb dial instead of the arrows and touch-to-shoot controls. The arrows and touch-to-shoot are really hard to manage while the virtual joystick and thumb dial are super easy to “get you some” as you blast your way through the various doodle enemy thugs.
