FIFA SOCCER 13 for the iPad and iPhone is the best “football” game for the iOS platform, and does not disappoint. It now has 30 leagues, 500 teams, online match gameplay, tons of skill moves to master and a whole lot more.
Right off the bat there are 2 new game modes (Tournament and Online), now allowing you to play against friends in game match, as well as others if you’re just looking for a quick match. The Quick Match game mode (featuring Kick Off, Practice, and Penalty/Shootout) is a great place to work on your new moves using the skill button when on offense and you’re shooting, which now includes a chip and finesse shot.
A cool feature with the iPhone version is the ability to use the iPhone as a game controller when playing an iPad game (yes, tried to get this working quickly, but will have to master this before cutting the next video). The controller was a surprise for me and I found this in the Quick Match section of the iPhone app. Another awesome surprise is this app supports iCloud sync, which is fantastic for those of us who play on both an iPad and iPhone.
The Manager Mode is the same and takes this game into a much more complicated realm where you can really play through seasons trying to master your role as being a coach. You’re challenged to keep the board, fans, and players happy all while maintaining a budget and winning. There are 5 difficulty settings from beginner to World Class, which again provides another dimension of gameplay as you try to become World Class.
No one should be complaining about a lack of available teams with 30 different soccer leagues and 500 teams to select from, along with regular updates to players for accuracy.
FIFA SOCCER 13 by EA Sports is a great value at $6.99 with loads of gameplay and no need to spend any money through in app purchase if you don’t want to, just play on.
