The Android platform offers an app category called “personalization” that the Apple iTunes App Store does not. Personally, the “personalization” category name is a bit weird, but the Android apps included in this category are quite nice, such as DIY Live Wallpaper, by Wolf Labs. This Android app allows users to go to the www.OwnSkin.com register a free account and make their own wallpapers. Once your wallpaper is made you can share it from within this app with others from this website community. Even cooler, from inside this app you can access plenty of others curated wallpapers. The wallpapers can be searched and filtered based on, My Creations, Popular, Featured, Rising, and Recent wallpaper categories. Once the app is installed the user can scroll through the wallpapers and download their creations or others at no cost. I am currently rocking the “Ninja android” by shaneherrera, which has been downloaded 10,903 times, pretty cool. There are in app ad’s that can be a little annoying, but overall they were mostly invisible to me. CM
