You’ll run for your life in I Must Run! Reloaded (the follow up to the original) I Must Run (no longer available), an endless runner game featuring more locations, non-stop jumping, sliding, and punching action. This game is a dream come true for Endless Runner Game lovers. The plot behind the game is solid, your hero in this game is an apparent escaped convict who “must run” through all locations to save his wife before time runs out. Just writing this makes my heart is pound a bit faster, and so will yours as you run your way through the various dangerous locations within this game. There are plenty of pitfalls, obstacles, and ways to easily die the farther along you get — if you get there. The cool gameplay itself is not my problem, my beef is with the confusing game mode explanations and the stupid/excessive in app purchase model. Once a game started, I was only able to access the endless game mode, yet the description for this game indicates that there are 6 locations in Story mode. Agreed, there are 6 locations, but there is no Story mode indicated in the game — hmmm, a bit confusing. Another confusing issue is why do I need to purchase extra lives, they seem pointless since I can pick up where I left off during gameplay.
Another huge issue is the original I Must Run iPhone game is no longer available in the iTunes App Store, which was FREE. Now, with this current game you have to pay $0.99 to purchase the game, and then either play for long periods of time to earn enough in app currency to unlock other locations, or plop down some real world cash to unlock the 6 different locations. When playing the game you will indeed make it through each of the 6 locations if you stay alive long enough or continue your gameplay in one sitting, even after dying. However, you cannot return to any of those areas as they are not unlocked, although you have been there — weird. This is possibly what they call Story mode, but without explanation inside the game who really knows. The game is awesome, but the customer revenue model is poor and the user interface lacks explanation. While this game has penetrated the sub gaming categories in iTunes of Action and Arcade, it remains around #453 overall paid, which is good, but I wager that this game could be a top 200 even 100 overall Paid if they made their in app purchase model more reasonable and explained the game modes better. I Must Run! Reloaded, while a great game falls a bit flat, but definitely has a chance to be a big hit if the developers make some changes.
