In today’s tough and fast-paced world it’s easy to feel bogged down and discouraged, but a few aptly spoken words can really brighten your day. Inspiring Quotes 5000 (by Michael Quach) gives you a chance to pause and recalibrate with quotes, sayings, and proverbs from great presidents, inventors, entrepreneurs, world leaders, religious leaders, authors, unknowns — and more. My guess is that there really are 5,000 of these words of wisdom to refer to, but I didn’t count them. Quotes from this application should inspire, encourage, and keep you persevering when you need an extra motivational boost. Not only will you feel better after reading them, but this Medical app also lets you pass the positive vibes on through a variety of sharing functions.
Currently, there are ads that run along the bottom of the screen in this app, but don’t complain — it’s a FREE app (for a limited time). Visually, Inspiring Quotes 5000 is a very simple and uncluttered app. The only adornment is a small, colorful lotus-looking flower on top of a solid colored background — which makes the app appear calm. The pleasant color scheme keeps things friendly, along with the easy-to-use user interface. Simple arrows initiate a flip-up or flip-down turn page animation. A few additional buttons are all that there is to this quote app. The “All” icon shows your favorites. If you toggle between the “All” and “Fav” button, you’ll see only your favorite quotes or toggle back to see all the quotes found in the app data base — it’s that simple.
The “More” lets you share and spread the positive quotes to others through a quick Email, SMS, copy function (but, you’ll have to paste to another app, Facebook, Twitter and Safari — a bit of a bummer), or by sharing the link. With the tap of the “Star” icon, you’ll easily start creating your own favorite list, but tapping the star again will remove a quote from your favorite list. While testing the favorite function, I added 1 quote by Vince Lombardi (a famous football coach) to the queue: “Winning isn’t everything, but wanting to win is” and the same quote showed up 3 times on an alternating solid colored background (green, blue, purple), which is the pattern for all quotes viewed. There is definitely a nice variety of quotes within the app and found myself “favoriting” many. I came across a profound truth from an unknown author that I could definitely use: “Blessed is the person who is too busy to worry in the daytime and too sleepy to worry at night.” Now, if we could all live like that we would end those sleepless nights tossing and turning with worry.
Inspiring Quotes 5000 is a nice, simple and easy-to-use quotes app, but it could benefit from some additional features like topic categories so that everything doesn’t just display at random, a 1 sentence blip of info on the people the quotes are coming from, as well as an easier sharing functionality to Facebook (etc.) other than having to paste it — not many people want to have to share that way. Aside from that, there are plenty of quotes to motivate you to succeed in your career aspirations, leadership role, life goals, and personal everyday life. And remember, according to American author and humorist Mark Twain, “The best way to cheer yourself is to try to cheer someone else up.” So share some words of encouragement today while Inspiring Quotes 5000 is FREE — because it’s only FREE for a limited time.
