iSing iPhone App, American Idol, American Shmidol, iPhone Idol!

It is all about community and it looks like the developers at Islandlabs have come to this conclusion with their newest iPhone app iSing. American Idol has been a staple in American culture for the last 8 years and it is no surprise that now there is an iPhone app to showcase ones singing talents. Yes, you can sing into your iPhone and post it to a community board of iPhone iSing people like yourself (if you get this app, that is).

This app is easy to use and does not require a lot of direction reading or concluding (dummy proof). Open it up and you will see a screen of brave individuals who have already recorded their music and put it up for a “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” vote by other community members. You press on the person you would like to listen to and after their song loads, you get 30 seconds of amateur music to criticize. There are tabs for latest, month, all time, location, and search (top nav bar). The bottom nav bar has a vote, sing, and info tab. To participate, go to the sing tab and press the + sing in the upper right corner and you have 30 seconds to belt out your top hit (good luck).

iSing does a good job to connect people. who have a love for singing with those who like to listen to people sing. Heck, who would have ever thought American Idol would have been such a success. iSing is a FREE iPhone app, but you will have to pay $0.99 through in app purchase if you want to sing and submit more than one song a month. If you fork out the $0.99, you can sing to your hearts content and submit those songs to your hearts content (unlimited once you pay $0.99). iSing receives 4.5 CrazyMikes Head’s for cool iPhone app idea and for a sense of community.
