The epic Jaws movie lives on decades after its release in 1975 — now alive on the Android platform as the FREE Arcade & Action app — Jaws Revenge. Terrorize everything in sight as the shark in this action game devouring sunbathers to seagulls as you play through 2 game modes, 4 worlds, boss battles — and much more. Jaws Revenge came out on the iPhone and iPad a little over a year ago selling for $1.99, but it is now free on the iOS platform. This gruesomely fun game is now available on the Android and is a very nice free game indeed. You’re Jaws and your goal — eat everything, even license plates (hint hint), but be sure to keep on eating or you’ll croak. This should not be hard, but don’t get carried away with boats, hang gliders, and other non-human or fish food because Jaws will go hungry and perish.

There are 2 game modes: Free Swim and Campaign or Objective based; both are fun, but you will find Free Swim game mode gives you a chance to earn Shark Tooth Coins, the in app currency, which can be purchased, but earned easily if you know where to look (look high while in Frenzy mode). There is a lot of gore and blood from eating swimmers, snorkelers, boaters, sun bathers, fish (etc.), so this game may not be appropriate for young kids. In Objective Mode you’re given certain achievements to reach usually by the time you reach a particular buoy, which gets more challenging as you progress. There is a big upside to achievements because they pay out good amounts of Shark Tooth Coins to help you upgrade Jaws in a variety of ways.

I played this on the iPad when it came out and it is a decent action game, yet can get stale after a bit. However, for a free game this app offers enough fun and is available for the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. IT also has a very reasonable in app purchase system, and the gameplay is not soooo difficult that it continually forces you to pump money into the game. Another little feature that warrants playing long term is that each day the level layouts change so there is a continued variety — which breaks up the mundane by providing fresh levels. Jaws Revenge is definitely worth a try if you’re looking for some tasty humans, fish, and seagulls to munch on as the virtual Jaws…Be The Shark!
