The Jukester Jukebox app turns your iPad into a modern day jukebox that will get the party started and keep the music playing with queued songs, backup playlists, and a whole lot more. Music lovers will crave this handy iPad music app that lets you play music from your iPad, DJ style or like an old jukebox. Strange, you don’t see too many jukeboxes these days. I recall going to a Shakey’s pizza parlor as a kid and dumping coins into the jukebox to select each song — something cool about that. This app has the same sort of functionality, but better — and on your own iPad.

Jukester Jukebox uses your iTunes Music library and playlists for the music queue, where all songs are placed for listening to. The queue has a bunch of super easy functionality like editing order, double tap to play any song, and auto pick that randomly pulls songs from pre-assigned playlists if your song queue goes empty. Your whole iTunes library is pulled up on the right side of the app (main or largest area) and can be viewed by Album, Artist, or song all alphabetized. There is also a search box for manual search. Adding a song is easy and can be done by tapping on an album, artist, and or a song; once added to your queue, it will play in the order you placed it. A nice feature for continuous music play, perhaps while at a party is that after :30 the app can show the album artwork as a song plays from any album. To have this work properly you there are a few settings you can adjust right from the app like screensaver and auto lock.

Speaking of locking things, you can set a passcode to lock the main DJ controls at the bottom right of this app. The controls include play, volume, rewind, fast forward, mute, settings and of course lock. Once the app is locked no one can adjust any of the controls just mentioned. I found this app to be very easy to use and the kind of native music player that should come with the iPad. Besides the other features already mentioned, this app is also AirPlay friendly.
