Start your engines and prepare to race (in Mini Motor Racing for Android) through 200+ levels, on over 20 different race tracks, and in 3 different game modes. I hope you are ready for the amount of agressive, mini racing fun that you’ll find in this hit Android game, which originally started on the iOS platform. Now available for the Android, you can race your way around plenty of different tracks earning money for winning races which allow you to upgrade your car and unlock others. There are a variety of control setups — the stock steering wheel is my least favorite. I opted for the left and right arrow controls on the bottom left, which seemed to be much more stable, but still a bit small on my larger Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The game loads slow enough to watch it struggle it’s way open, but once in the actual core racing part of the game it performed fine. I did note that some content would not download when I had the Juice Defender Android app in place — but once removed all content was downloaded.
The graphics are very well done, especially the movement effect as you transition through each race track providing a very realistic experience in this arcade-style racer. A bit of a bummer is the lack of multi-player online racing that has come to Mini Motor Racing for the iPhone, currently, multi-player for the Android is local over WiFi. A big plus in my opinion is the ease to earn cash by playing the game, which prevents spending real cash to upgrade your car. The option is there for you impatient types, but in this crunch economy, The Binary Mill gets props for making a really fair game revenue model that is very giving to repeat players. Mini Motor Racing is a fantastic racing game, but beware of the later levels and prepare yourself for Nascar-like aggression from the computer players.
