While waiting for the next Need for Speed title (NFS Most Wanted), we wanted to remind you of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit available for the Android, which is worthy of mentioning. This classic “cops and robbers” game lets you choose your side while you race through a variety of game modes featuring 20 different cars and some rather intense gameplay. We have road tested this game a while back on the iPad, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit for iPad and it performed amazingly on that device. The Android version is pretty good, but for me the road was difficult to see at times due to the shading and overall graphics. There is an area in the upper right to watch how the road twists and turns, but honestly, I tried to keep my eyes on the road (for a change) while playing this game.
Why? Because when you drive off the road you slow down, and the computer AI is quite sharp in this game — you do not need to give them more of an advantage than they already have. This was not a horrible issue, but it does make for challenging gameplay. I actually hooked my Android up to my TV with an Android HDMI connector and played on the TV in HD. This allows for much better visual perception of the road and the game overall. There is load of gameplay for both good guys (cops) and bad guys (racers), as well as cars to unlock by ranking up in both game modes. Apparently, The developers at Electronic Arts are getting ready to release the next Need for Speed title for iOS and Android very soon, Fall 2012 called Need for Speed Most Wanted.
Until then, this Android Racing game is a good way to whet your appetite for the next NFS title and even practice up on hone your cops and robbers’ driving skills. Check out our Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Android App Video Review for a look at this Android Racing app gameplay.
