There are a lot of note apps in the iTunes App Store, naturally because people want to be more productive. I too continue upon the “Holy Grail” in search of the very best note taking app in existence. A new iPhone note app that deserves some attention is the app PhatNotes by PhatWare Corp. This is a heavy duty note app that really takes note taking on the iPhone seriously. This app’s highlight is that it has a parent software application for the PC (sorry Mac folks, no software for us yet) called, yes, PhatNotes. The PC application works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 and can be found here PhatNote for the PC. The iPhone app allows you to store thousands of notes, organize them in folders and you can search for them based on several criteria. Some cool functionality is the ability to input with your finger through writing (super cool) and where you get the term “PhatNote.” There is also the ability to email directly from a note, using a contact from your contact book as opposed to having to research an email address. This is especially handy while on the go and in need of getting a note to someone ASAP. The big add by purchasing the desktop software is the ability to sync your iPhone PhatNotes with your PC PhatNotes. There are a few drawbacks to this app namely the price tag $9.99. An additional price hit comes with the purchase of the PC software at $19.95 and there is no software to sync with Apple Mac products at this time. But, if your a hardcore user of PhatNotes the $30 price tag will not scare you away. PhatWare for the iPhone gets 4.5 CrazyMike’s heads for strength of app, functionality, and innovation.
