It’s not hard to see why people rely on Reuters as a major news source. Reuters has been around a long time and is known as one of the world’s largest international multimedia news agencies. Their massive capacity for news coverage is based on sheer numbers. Reuters boasts 2,400+ staff in about 150 different countries, according to their website FAQs.

And thankfully for iOS mobile device owners, Reuters has released a relatively new, and free, News app to help news junkies get their fix. The Reuters app delivers a constant source of information 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. As a matter of fact, during the short time I was browsing through this app, there were 11 posted articles that were timestamped as 1 hour or less on the Home page.

In addition to standard news articles, the Reuters app also brings you special reports, opinion pieces, and many other nice app features. Along with great written articles and quality photos, there are plenty of short videos to watch. All this content is great, but it’s the nice user interface, sleek design, and lightening fast speed that make the Reuters app a pleasure to use.

The Reuters app has a great search engine as well. I tested out the search function and was able to find articles on absolutely everything I searched for. This app also gives you an opportunity to save stories for later viewing and even an option to set up a tracker for specific companies you’re interested in finding news stories on. Simply type in a company’s name using their Watchlist feature. Of course, like any other good app, you can share news articles with others: via Facebook, Twitter and Email.

There are a couple of other things worth mentioning about the Reuters app. Even though Reuters is a free application, the ads are extremely minimal and unobtrusive. And for those of us who read on our iPhone, it can be a big strain on the eyes. This iPhone News app has a nice text size feature that lets you adjust the text font appearance to suit your comfort level.

So, if you’re serious about the news you take in on your iPhone or iPad, then the Reuters app may just be the News app for you.
