Rock(s) Rider (by ECA-GAMES) is an iPad and iPhone motorcycle X-Trials racing game that features crazy death-defying levels, side-by-side Boss races, 60 challenges, 40 achievements — and more. I have played numerous motorcycle games and have not found one that is as much fun to play or that played as well as this game does. The so called “Real” gaming blogs out there can only find the controls to attack in this game, as well as admittedly not liking this motorcycle racing sport — really? I actually think X-Trials motorcross is rather cool. Anyone who can manipulate a motorcycle bike that’s full of death-provoking power and move along as lightly as a feather while performing tricks, jumps, and etc. is fairly awesome to me!

As I was saying, the game has luscious 3D industrialized graphicsto fit the game motif. Your racers (male or female) race through 12 levels that get larger and more difficult as you go through the 2 game packs and additional un-lockable Trike pack. The goal is to score a gold in each race, which requires quick time and no or limited faults (crashes). There are plenty of extras along the way to unlock new motorcycle skins and rider outfits.

The controls are not that big of a deal to the normal/average person, but if you need to find something to complain about, I guess this could be it. I was actually more put out by the fact that I ended up in non-playable areas, but found this was to be acceptable because of the top right double left arrow that places you back at your last checkpoint by tapping. Besides, the game environment has a lot of stuff going on and it is rather realistic to fall out of bounds — so not a problem. A goal in this iOS game is to earn cold hard cash, which is done by wining races, but can also be accrued through gambling and betting on your race performance.

The boss characters were well done; Pan Head is a real nice guy and reminds me of an old boss I had named Don Vargo, when I parked cars at a Detroit night club — veins sticking out of his head and all. Great attention to detail does not go unnoticed in this game. Another special feature I need to mention is the “Trike” motorcycle that can be unlocked after completing 50% of Pan Head’s Warehouse, this requires you to get a combination of gold and sliver on several levels — good luck! Rock(s) Rider is a great game, not too hard, not too easy, and well made with no freakishly-acting motorcycle action during gameplay.
