TomTom GO 730 GPS Gets You There In Style!

TomTom GO 730 is one of the best stand alone GPS units on the market for the money. I had an opportunity to use the GO 730 for the last few weeks and use this GPS I did. I used this GPS in the city, rural areas and everywhere in between. The GPS performed good to above average in locating the shortest distance to the location I had entered. This unit recalculated routes seamlessly when I took an unexpected turn the GPS was not anticipating. Additionally, the GO 730 was not overly vocal while making route adjustments. A cool feature I discovered while listening to my iPhone library was the automatic volume control.

Tomtom GO 730 GPS unit changed the volume depending on the environmental noise affecting my car (inside or out). In this case the Tomtom GO 730 was competing with Metallica, but the GPS did not give up and I turned my music down to hear the upcoming instructions. A feature that needs more work on this device is the Voice Address. When using this feature I spoke as clearly and as slowly as possible. However, this device was only able to make out about 60% of what I was speaking. There were plenty of other features that made up for the lack of a good voice input system. Such as IQ Routes, Advanced Lane Guidance, Blue Tooth calling, MP3 compatible, branded icons, Tomtom home, etc.

The GO 730 is a mid line to upper end GPS unit that is worth the money. The GPS is slim enough to fit in a jacket pocket, brief case, or purse. This GPS also comes with a sleek window mount and car charger. Taking this unit out of the box I did not have any configurations to achieve to get the GO 730 working. I had this GPS out of the box and on my window navigating in a matter of minutes. The Tomtom GO 730 currently costs $449.95 online at This GPS system is for someone who wants some extra GPS features, quick usability, and easy portability. The GO 730 also has the ability to be used with some subscription services such as lowest daily fuel prices, weather, safety cameras, etc.
