Trainz Driver delivers a very realistic 3D train simulator experience, whether you play arcade style or “real” simulation using authentic train controls. A great place to start in this game is the tutorial. You can try to use the “real” train controls in any area (US, Britain, Australia) in the free ride area, but do yourself a favor and complete the tutorial first since you may get a bit frustrated trying to figure out how the controls work. If you do not start your train correctly you will experience “Wheel Slip.” The train moves, but you don’t.
The graphics are very well done and the ability to pan around, zoom in and out, and have a large variety of views really gives this game a lot of depth. A little tip: trains are heavy and stopping them quickly when going fast isn’t going to happen in this train simulator game. Another point to hit home for this game is that it is really detailed and the game levels can be quite long. However, there is a save feature for each game level. There are a few short levels like Run Away Train in the Arcade game mode, but for the most part each game is quite long. This is by far the best train simulator game for iPhone, iPad or the Android.
