Pinterest – Life In Pictures On Virtual Pinboard

iphone app reviews

Imagine a social network where you can pin pictures to a virtual pinboard that can be shared as most social networks, via a user stream with friends, family, and others — then you’ve just imagined Pinterest. Pinterest is a new social network and iPhone app, which for now requires an invite after submission of a request. I downloaded the Pinterest FREE iPhone app and went through the process, and after about 1 week I was notified that I was given a Pinterest account. I didn’t do much with the account until yesterday, but since joining and activating my account, I found I was getting connections daily and mostly from women, so guys you may want to give this social network a try. Seriously, this unique social network lets you create albums and pin pictures to those topic specific albums, which can range from wedding plan albums, houseroom re-design albums, etc. You can share your pins on Pinterest and Facebook with a click of a box. Other people’s pins (and yours) can be liked and shared through the major social networks. The iPhone app was actually easier to use in some cases than the website. I found it easier to follow people with the iPhone app than with the main website. Also, my first pin attempt via the website did not work, but the iPhone pin went up super fast.

My overall experience with the Pinterest social network is that it appears to be predominantly women centric, revolving around fashion, photography, and home design. But, there are guys (me being one of them), and the social network is different than Flickr, Photobucket or other photography social networks, as it was primarily created to share, and with the iPhone app that means all your mobile pictures can be pinned quickly and shared with other. Pinterest is rapidly catching on and the developers are obviously trying to control growth through the invitation process, and as far as the iPhone app goes, it worked better than the website in many cases, at least for me.
